COVID-19: Vision-Box Donates Personal Protective Equipment to Oeiras Municipality
Vision-Box, a leading digital identity management multinational company, is undertaking a public safety campaign to support municipal firefighters and law enforcement on the frontlines of the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. The campaign involves the delivery of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for field use by emergency personnel that are daily contact with the public and to ensure the continuation of essential community activities.
Miguel Leitmann, Vision-Box’s Global CEO and founder, made the initial delivery of face visors to the Mayor of Oeiras, Isaltino Morais, at Oeiras City Hall on April 24. The Municipality of Oeiras will handle the distribution of the PPE by identifying where there is a lack of individual protection equipment.
“Vision-Box is determined to actively contribute in the fight against this global threat and to guarantee the best possible security conditions for our public safety professionals.
We are aware of the current needs caused by Covid-19 and we intend to support the municipality in this fight. It is a way of giving back to the community and recognizing the intense daily work of our emergency personnel that has now lasted for almost two months. It is a global commitment and, in particular, with Oeiras municipality, where Vision-Box headquarters is located”, stated Miguel Leitmann.
With most employees working from home, the company mobilized resources from the Research and Development team by using the department’s 3D printers to manufacture the equipment. This project is being executed as part of the company’s Social Responsibility policy with the intention to produce PPE for free distribution in conjunction with Oeiras City Hall.
